The brutal reality of Jesus’ sacrifice serves only to show us the depths of His love for us, and help us to begin to understand how undeserving of His grace we are. Perhaps the most beautiful irony in the history of the world is displayed as this man, publicly killed in front of all, rises again and is seen by all of those who watched Him die. As they did all they could to punish and humiliate and put an end to Jesus - to a level of overkill, it ironically only served to make His resurrection that much greater.
